Everything you need to know about applying for a Canada Electronic Travel Authorization
Who Needs a Canada eTA?
You need an eTA if you are a visa-exempt foreign national and you are flying to or transiting through a Canadian airport. This includes citizens from countries such as:
- United Kingdom
- Australia
- France
- Germany
- Japan
- South Korea
- Italy
- Spain
Who Does NOT Need an eTA?
- Canadian citizens (including dual citizens)
- Canadian permanent residents
- U.S. citizens
- Travelers with a valid Canadian visa
- Travelers entering by land or sea
Required Documents
- Valid Passport: From a visa-exempt country, valid for at least 6 months
- Email Address: To receive your eTA confirmation and updates
- Employment Information: Details about your current occupation
- Travel Information: Purpose of visit and contact details in Canada (if applicable)
Payment Information
The eTA application fee is CAD $7. You'll need a valid credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or prepaid cards) to complete your application.
